Reynolds and Reynolds Selected as a Top 100 Training Organization

Reynolds receives high honors for its commitment to associate training and professional development.

DAYTON, Ohio, March 8 -- The Reynolds and Reynolds Company announced today that it has been named to Training magazine's Top 100 Training Organizations list. Recognized for outstanding commitment to associate development, Reynolds placed 32 amidst the ranks of companies like IBM, Pfizer, AT&T and Edward Jones.

"Reynolds and Reynolds' development programs demonstrate an incredibly tight connection to its business goals and performance," said Tammy Galvin, editor-in-chief of Training magazine. "Through its comprehensive workforce development programs, Reynolds clearly understands that its ultimate prosperity is directly related to the extent that its employees are encouraged to develop their own potential. What's more, Reynolds does a phenomenal job of proving that all of those development initiatives are tied to real business results."

The Training Top 100 recognizes companies for excellence in providing associate development programs. In today's economic environment where many companies continue to slash their training budgets, the companies included in this year's list invested nearly $7 million, or on average, 4.1 percent of their payroll to better the professional lives of their employees.

"Reynolds associates are the edge that differentiates our company in the marketplace and with our customers," said Susan Moll, senior director of Reynolds University. "Reynolds University is a testament of our company's commitment to further increase that edge by providing associates with opportunities for continuous learning and growth."

Reynolds is one of 29 newcomers to the Training Top 100 and one of nine new companies to enter the list within the top 50. Reynolds University provides targeted learning and developmental education, including e-learning for both associates and customers. Training opportunities for associates include courses in company culture, core skills, leadership development, marketing, sales, service and support, team behaviors and technology. During 2003, nearly 3,000 associates enrolled in Reynolds University educational programs.

Supported by a team of 54 professionals dedicated to providing associate education, Reynolds University is based in Dayton, Ohio. In 2005, the university will move into a new, state-of-the-art facility that is currently under construction at the Research Park headquarters.

In determining rankings, Training magazine assesses the size, type, and depth of a company's training programs, its financial commitment to training, and the number of available training professionals. Additionally, the award evaluates a company's ability to track, tie, and measure effectiveness of its training programs.
