Navigation Technologies Launches Company's First Map of Mexico

Mexico City Product Denotes First in a Series of Mapping Initiatives in Mexico

CHICAGO, March 8 -- Navigation Technologies, a leading provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation, Internet/wireless applications and business solutions, continues to expand its global map product portfolio with the mapping of one of the world's most populous cities: Mexico City. The Mexico City product is now available to Navigation Technologies' customers across all industry segments.

The fully navigable database covers nearly 95% of the Mexico City population with over 173,000 kilometers (approximately 107,500 miles) of roads. The Mexico City product features over 9,600 Points of Interest (POIs) including restaurants, museums and cultural monuments. Included in the NAVTECH(R) map of Mexico City are major highways such as MEX 150 Autopista Mexico Puebla and MEX 150 Autopista Mexico Toluca. As a result, a driver can now route to and from any address, throughout Mexico City, guided by turn-by- turn routing instructions.

The map also includes the coastline of all countries in Central America from Guatemala to Panama, a unique addition that helps to enhance the map display of navigation systems and location-based service applications.

"Being able to offer a comprehensive navigable map of one of the most populous cities in the world is the direct result of Navigation Technologies' unique data collection and database development efforts," said John MacLeod, Executive Vice President - Global Marketing & Strategy for Navigation Technologies. "Mapping Mexico City is one of many initiatives we have launched in anticipation of the needs of our diverse, global customer base."
