BAER FIELD SPEEDWAY WILL HOST ASA LATE MODEL SERIES

PENDLETON, Ind. (March 5, 2004) -- The American Speed Association has announced
the ASA Late Model Series will hold the second event of its 2004 season on Sunday,
May 16 at Baer Field Speedway in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

"We are expecting the first-ever Baer Field event will bring a large number of entrants
and with its half-mile layout, it should be a great scene for short track racing," said Joe
Balash, ASA vice-president, race operations. "With many of our registered teams based
in Northern Indiana and Michigan, this event gives them an awesome platform to race in
front of their friends and fans."

Baer Field Speedway is located in Ft. Wayne, the second largest city in Indiana. The
track is a .5-mile oval with seven to 11 degrees of banking in the corners. The historic
speedway will celebrate their 40th year of operation in 2004, making it one of the
Northeast Indiana's oldest professional and continuous sporting venues.

"This event will undoubtedly become one of our most important shows of the season,"
said Tom Isch, Baer Field Speedway promoter. "We are very much looking forward to
hosting a premier event of the caliber of the ASA Late Model Series season."

The inaugural ASA Late Model Series event at Baer Field is set for Sunday May 16. The
racing program will take center stage around 2 p.m. The 100-lap event will be joined
with Baer Field Speedway divisions on the schedule of activities.

The entire 2004 ASA Late Model Series schedule continues to be formulated with a total
of 14 events expected to make up the final slate.

Officials are planning for 100-lap green flag races with no pit stops unless a car is
damaged in an on-track incident. The cars will include makes from three major
manufacturers - General Motors, Ford and Dodge. They will utilize template bodies
and engines from all three.

The American Speed Association is based in Pendleton, Ind., and has offered stock car
racing programs since 1968, including the ASA National Tour, ASA Late Model Series
