'The Jerry Springer Show' New Sponsor of Adair Motorsports' Car Competing in NASCAR's Grand National West Division

CHICAGO, March 4 -- The Jerry Springer Show has returned to the NASCAR racing circuit for the second consecutive year with new sponsorship partner Adair Motorsports. The logo of the popular syndicated TV series will appear prominently all season on the hood of the Adair car -- its #3 Pontiac Grand Prix -- in the 2004 NASCAR Grand National West Division.

As part of the show's primary sponsorship of the Adair car, driven by C.T. (Tavo) Hellmund, a multifaceted NASCAR national promotion and sweepstakes is in the works for May. Grand prizewinners will receive a Jerry Springer fantasy-racing trip to the season's final race Oct. 23 at California's Irwindale Speedway. They will be made honorary members of the Jerry Springer/Adair Motorsports team and receive an authentic team uniform. In addition, a select few will have the opportunity to take a pre-race lap with Hellmund in the #3 Springer-sponsored car.

The Jerry Springer sponsorship of Adair Motorsports began Jan. 25 in Phoenix, with its next racing appearance due March 27 in Bakersfield, Calif. In all, the show will sponsor the team in 12 races this year.

Its new partnership with Adair will also result in the display of The Jerry Springer Show logo on the hood of driver Jimmy Kitchens' #0 car, which will appear in the Sam's Town 300 Busch series race Saturday in Las Vegas. The race airs live on FX at 3:30 p.m. (ET).

Adair Motorsports has added Hellmund and championship-winning crew chief Dave Riggs to its team this year. Hellmund and Riggs joined the team following a very successful freshman year in which it earned an impressive fourth-place finish in owner's points.

Hellmund has earned a solid reputation -- both in and out of the racing world. He has led consistently in NASCAR's Winston West Grand National Division, as well as in its Late Models, IMCA Modifieds and various open wheel cars. In his off time, Hellmund created the highly acclaimed 'Safe & Sober' program for high schools, which earned him a commendation from President Bush.

"C.T. is without a doubt the total package on and off the track," said team owner Christina Adair. "With the support of The Jerry Springer Show, we now have the necessary resources for our run at the 2004 Grand National Series Championship."

Currently in its 13th hit season, The Jerry Springer Show tackles real-life topics featuring its signature edgy guests and outrageous Springer-style relationships (check local listings for times and stations).
