Delphi Corporation and GE Infrastructure Executives to Keynote at Sensors Expo & Conference in Detroit

Advanstar Communications, Inc. today announced that Donald L. Runkle, vice chairman of Delphi Corporation, and Kermit Hoffman, president of GE Infrastructure Sensing - Americas, will keynote at the upcoming Sensors Expo & Conference, June 7-10 in Detroit.
Mr. Runkle's keynote on Tuesday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m., will appropriately focus on the expanding sensors market in the automotive industry. "With today's vehicles containing an average of 30 sensors, the Sensors Expo provides the perfect forum to discuss the numerous opportunities ranging from safety technologies to in-vehicle entertainment systems," said Mr. Runkle. "Beyond even the automotive realm, Delphi is designing sophisticated sensors with a commonality that will allow for applications in other industries." Delphi, the world's largest automotive components and systems supplier, has been developing sensors, controllers and actuators for more than 30 years.
Donald L. Runkle serves on the company's Board of Directors and is also a member of the Delphi Strategy Board, the company's top policy-making group. He is the senior executive responsible for directing Delphi's process discipline, the streamlining and integration of engineering, manufacturing and purchasing. Additionally, Runkle is Delphi's chief technology officer, serves as the executive champion for Delphi's Engineering and Manufacturing Task Teams and is the strategic customer champion for the DaimlerChrysler and Commercial Vehicle customer teams.
Kermit Hoffman's presentation, "Innovative Sensing Technologies that Drive Productivity, Quality and Safety," will take place on Wednesday, June 9 at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Hoffman is responsible for all operational and financial aspects of the business throughout North, Central and South America, as well as for the business technology, market and channel strategy. "I am delighted to be participating in the 2004 Sensors Expo and Conference. The exchange of ideas and the ability to foster new relationships is vitally important in driving innovation and productivity for new and existing sensing applications," said Mr. Hoffman.
GE Infrastructure Sensing - Americas is a global leader in the design and manufacture of sensing elements, devices, instruments and systems. Mr. Hoffman joined GE in 1986 on the Technical Sales Program for the GE Motors business. He had a variety of Market and Application Engineering roles and in 1989 was promoted to Commercial Pump Marketing Manager. In 1992, Mr. Hoffman moved to GE Supply and became the Automation and Controls Product Manager for GE Supply's Distribution Marketing Organization and in 1994 he became the Branch Manager for GE Supply's Distribution Sales organization.
