Lexus Posts Record February Sales

TORRANCE, Calif., March 2 -- Lexus continued to post record sales in February with 20,545 units sold for the month, an increase of 34.1 percent over the same period in 2003.

"As the luxury market heats up, we are well-positioned to take advantage of consumers desires for a diverse range of high quality luxury vehicles," said Denny Clements, Lexus group vice president and general manager.

Led by the recently redesigned LS 430 and ES 330, passenger car sales totaled 9,875 in February, a 23.9 percent increase. Lexus luxury utility vehicle sales enjoyed a 45.2 percent February increase with all models showing marked gains. Total light truck sales rose to 10,670 from 7,348 last February.

Overall year-to-date sales for both passenger cars and light trucks were up from 31,339 to 40,379, an increase of 26.3 percent over the same period last year.

Lexus Certified Pre-Owned also posted significant gains in February with 3,405 units sold, up 26.6 percent over February 2003. Year-to-date CPO sales were up 30.2 percent over the same period in 2003.
