American Suzuki's Automobile Sales Leap 20 Percent in February

New Models Help Corporation Notch Second Month of Big Sales

BREA, Calif., March 2 -- Despite cold temperatures outside, American Suzuki's sales remained hot for the second month, notching a 20 percent leap in February sales compared to the same month last year, selling a total of 5,241 vehicles. Calendar year sales totaled 10,340 vehicles, a 37 percent increase over its 2003 sales.

"We are off to a great start this year and we will move forward with this same momentum," explained Koichi Suzuki, president of American Suzuki's Automotive Operations. "Suzuki's increasing success is the result of our 357 initiatives that included an expanded product line, increased advertising and promotions, a renewed commitment to customer service and satisfaction, and dealer development programs that included the Suzuki Square retail image program."

Appearing in U.S. showrooms late last year, the Suzuki Verona and Forenza combine Italian styling with the power, performance, passenger room and standard features usually associated with considerably higher-priced models. The two new vehicles will be closely followed by the launch of seven additional models by 2007, including the Suzuki Reno, a five-door crossover vehicle slated to go on sale later this year.
