GEICO Elects Paul Lavrey to Assistant Vice President

WASHINGTON, March 1 -- GEICO's board of directors recently announced the promotion of Paul Lavrey to assistant vice president of underwriting research. He had been director of underwriting research since 2000.

A resident of Ijamsville, Md., Lavrey joined GEICO in 1983 as an actuarial assistant, and has held a number of positions in the company's pricing and reserving units. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and actuarial science from Pennsylvania State University, and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
