Porsche(R) Names Harling General Manager, Public Relations
ATLANTA, Feb. 26, 2004 -- Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) today announced the appointment of Bernhard (Bernd) Harling to the position of General Manager, Public Relations.
Harling, who has more than 30 years of experience in the field of corporate communication, will report to Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO.
"Bernd brings to Porsche transatlantic expertise in the car business, which will play a critical role as we expand and grow in the North American market," said Schwarzenbauer. "With his German language skills and understanding of German culture, he will also help PCNA achieve its goal to become a full partner with its parent company, Porsche AG."
Before joining Porsche, Harling managed his own New York-based communication services firm providing public relations and media counsel to international companies doing business in both North America and Europe.
From 1993 to 1998, he was responsible for corporate communication in North America for Daimler-Benz AG in New York. Harling began his career at Daimler- Benz, AG in 1971 and held a variety of positions in media relations and corporate communications in both Germany and North America.
