NewBay FoneBlog to Provide Full 'Dot Com' Websites

CANNES, France--Feb. 2, 20043, 2004--NewBay FoneBlog, the world's leading phone blogging solution for mobile network operators, now offers users full domain names for their FoneBlog websites.

Mobile phone users can now buy their own ".com", ".org" or ".net" domain name that will become their personal website. So, for example, instead of "www.foneblog.com/loopdiloop" a user can now buy the domain name "www.loopdiloop.org" and send images, text, video and audio directly to their FoneBlog website from their mobile phone. Friends, family and internet visitors can instantly view the site using a WAP or web browser.

"As usage of FoneBlog has grown, end users have created a wealth of personal websites sharing their experiences and media. To further personalize their sites and to increase visitor traffic, many users have asked us for the ability to register full domain names," commented Caelen King, VP Product Management at NewBay Software. "This is the first time that users will be able to buy full Internet domain names without requiring a computer."

End-User subscribers to FoneBlog will be given the option to buy a domain name as part of their FoneBlog settings. Once a unique name is chosen the website is purchased and charged to the user by Premium SMS or directly to their mobile phone bill. No credit card or additional user details are required.

The pricing for full domain names will vary according to the mobile operator, but pricing is expected to be EUR 24.00 per annum for ".com", ".net" and ".org". This new FoneBlog feature will be available in March 2004.

For mobile operators, this new feature will further strengthen users' attachment to FoneBlog and media messaging while increasing customer loyalty.
