Motorola Signs Licensing Agreement with Action Engine To Deliver Advanced Data Services on Motorola MPx200
CANNES, France--Feb. 23, 2004--Action Engine Corporation (www.actionengine.com), the leading provider of Advanced Data Services (ADS) solutions for smart phones and devices, announced today a licensing agreement with Motorola, Inc. . Under the terms of the agreement, Motorola will embed Action Engine's ADS platform on the Motorola MPx200 offered by world-leading carrier Orange SA (FOREIGN OTC:ORGEF). Orange serves more than 40 million customers worldwide with international operations across 21 countries. The agreement is one in a series of licensing contracts that Action Engine has announced with leading handset manufacturers over the past 18 months. By pre-installing Action Engine's ADS platform on newly launched smart phones such as Motorola's MPx200, companies like Motorola can provide carriers with the ability to easily and economically create and deliver a unique, custom-branded suite of data services and applications to mobile subscribers. Action Engine's ADS platform also includes a robust, carrier-grade set of over-the-air provisioning capabilities that allows operators to efficiently and cost-effectively update handsets with minimal impact to end-users.
"In today's highly competitive marketplace, the operators driving the industry are those leveraging technologies to drive data usage, adoption and loyalty," said Craig Eisler, CEO of Action Engine. "Action Engine has streamlined the rollout of data-enabled smart phones with its Advanced Data Services solution, and by working with leading device manufacturers like Motorola, we are enabling operators to successfully offer a first-class, off-the shelf suite of data services and applications that meets the unique work- and lifestyles of their subscribers."
Action Engine leads the industry as the first company to deliver a feature-rich, carrier-grade ADS solution that enables mobile operators to develop and deploy a differentiated and custom-branded suite of data services that functions across multiple device types and mobile operating systems. Unlike legacy technologies that have failed to catalyze wireless data adoption, Action Engine's technology optimizes both device and network usage -- providing subscribers with a rich and intuitive user experience, unparalleled network efficiency, and convenient and always-available access to applications and data independent of a network connection. Consequently, Action Engine is helping global wireless operators improve bottom line performance by successfully driving data usage, adoption and customer loyalty.
Action Engine will be demonstrating its ADS software solution at 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, Feb. 23, 2004-27, in the Palais des Festivals with the following partners:
