AAA Texas: Weekend Gas Watch; Pump Prices Show Little Movement
HOUSTON--Feb. 2, 20040, 2004--For the fourth consecutive week, gasoline prices in Texas showed little or no movement, according to AAA Texas' Weekend Gas Watch.Currently, the Texas average for a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline is $1.55 -- the same average for the fourth straight week. Motorists in San Antonio are paying the cheapest for a gallon of regular self-serve -- $1.51 a gallon, up a tenth of a penny since a week ago. Corpus Christi posted the biggest gain of more than two cents for an average of $1.53 a gallon. Dallas tops the list at $1.57 a gallon -- about the same as last week.
"The current Texas average is only seven cents away from the all-time record price of $1.62 a gallon," said Rose Rougeau of AAA Texas. "Motorists can anticipate more price increases as refineries prepare to make the annual switch from winter fuel to the cleaner-burning summer gas."
