Lexus Tees Up With Peter Jacobsen for New Five-Year Partnership

TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 19, 2004 -- Lexus, the No. 1-selling luxury automotive manufacturer, and PGA TOUR professional Peter Jacobsen today announced that the two have signed a five-year partnership agreement. The partnership begins in February 2004. As a part of the agreement, Jacobsen, a 26-year TOUR veteran, will wear the Lexus name and logo during tournaments and public appearances for the brand.

"Peter has made a tremendous contribution to the golf world both as an exceptional player and as a community leader. His top-notch performance and leadership are attributes that are perfectly aligned with the Lexus brand," said Mike Wells, vice president of marketing for Lexus. "We are looking forward to a mutually rewarding partnership with him."

Jacobsen, 49, has won seven PGA TOUR titles, most recently the 2003 Greater Hartford Open. Jacobsen has served as a Player Director on the PGA TOUR, a golf commentator on ABC-TV, a television analyst for The Skins Game, and a roving reporter for the 1991 Ryder Cup matches on NBC. He also authored the book, "Buried Lies: True Tales and Tall Stories from the PGA TOUR." Currently, Jacobsen stars in his own show on The Golf Channel, "Peter Jacobsen Plugged-In."

Jacobsen is also the founder of Peter Jacobsen Productions, Inc., a national sports marketing and event management company based in Beaverton, Ore., where he has managed and produced PGA TOUR, Champions Tour and non-Tour events that have raised millions of dollars for local market charities.

"To team up with a prestigious brand like Lexus is very exciting for me," said Jacobsen. "I'm looking forward to representing Lexus for the next five years."

Jacobsen is scheduled to appear in the upcoming Nissan Open (Feb. 19 - 22, 2004) at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
