Mitsubishi International Corporation Selects webMethods Integration Platform

webMethods Will Enable Mitsubishi International Corporation to Streamline Business Processes and Reduce Costs

TOKYO and FAIRFAX, Va., Feb. 19 -- webMethods K.K., the Japanese subsidiary of webMethods, Inc. , the industry's first Web services infrastructure company, today announced that Mitsubishi International Corporation (MIC) selected the webMethods Integration Platform in early 2003 to develop and manage its EDI and XML-based trading partner relationships on a single platform. By managing its systems on the webMethods Integration Platform, MIC expects to improve its productivity and reduce operational costs.

"By implementing the webMethods Integration Platform, we can expect to improve productivity of the development and managing of our systems, while achieving serious cost reductions," said Mr. Keigo Ando, Manager, Mitsubishi International Corporation. "We also believe that we can establish a strategic IT system for higher ROI by leveraging cutting-edge technologies."

MIC plans to implement the webMethods Integration Platform to connect its internal and external systems in order to improve productivity through business-process-focused systems management. Since the webMethods Integration Platform does not require customers to write extensive source code, MIC is expecting quick development time and the ability to achieve a faster return on investment.

"MIC is faced with meeting a variety of customer requirements from its broad base of trading partners," said Akimasa Koizumi, president and CEO of webMethods K.K. "By leveraging webMethods' proven integration solutions, MIC will be able integrate existing applications and create cross-functional business processes that will increase productivity, reduce operational costs and improve customer relations."
