MobileGuardian Recovers Stolen Truck

Vehicle Recovery and Location Device Guides Police to Missing Vehicle

SNIDE'S REMARKS:Isn't thgis what they are supposed to do? Is this and unusual occurence?

ATLANTA, Feb. 18 -- Within two hours of reporting his truck missing, John Sanchez of Miami Lakes, FL had his vehicle back, thanks to MobileGuardian, a vehicle recovery and location device that allows customers to view location data online and on demand. Mr. Sanchez awoke February 7 to find his new Ford F-350 was not in his driveway, where he parked it the night before. He immediately logged in to the MobileGuardian Web site to perform a "locate" and safely disabled the vehicle. The locate procedure provided John with an address and map of the vehicle's location, which he then relayed to police. By disabling the vehicle, it prevented the truck from being restarted.

Officer Juan Acosta of the Hialeah Police Dept was on-scene as the vehicle was recovered. "We were very impressed with how fast and how accurate the MobileGuardian system performed. It guided us to within two blocks of where the vehicle was located," he said. In addition, "As a police officer, MobileGuardian is a great tool in stolen vehicle recovery and as a citizen, I would install this product in my personal vehicle."

Sanchez was also pleased with his MobileGuardian. "It's definitely a great device to have. Considering what I paid for the truck, it was more than worth the investment. I am very satisfied."

Of the ten metropolitan areas (MSAs) with the highest vehicle theft rates, the Miami area ranked 6th in 2002, as reported by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB).

How MobileGuardian Works

When a vehicle is stolen, the car's alarm system will trigger a message to the MobileGuardian device, which will then wirelessly transmit a theft alert notification message to the vehicle's owner via their wireless phone, email or pager. The owner can then simply log on to the secure MobileGuardian Web site with a unique login name and password and send an immediate locate request to the vehicle (using GPS technologies and our nationwide wireless network). Owners can then remotely disable the vehicle at the touch of a button; call authorities to report its location virtually anywhere in North America and once recovered, re-enable the vehicle at the touch of a button. Users are also given the option to purchase additional "locates" to track their vehicle in times of non-emergency. MobileGuardian also offers MobileGuardian Angel(TM), which allows customers to call into our customer support center and obtain vehicle location, disable or enable their vehicle and provides basic info on car to report to police (VIN#, Licenses plate, etc.) as these documents may be in stolen car.
