MotorCities-Automobile National Heritage Area Selects Liebler!MacDonald as its Strategic Communications Partner

DETROIT, Feb. 17, 2004 -- MotorCities-Automobile National Heritage Area (MotorCities) has selected Liebler!MacDonald (L!M) as its strategic communications partner. Liebler!MacDonald will help MotorCities achieve its goals of preserving, interpreting and promoting Michigan's rich automotive and labor heritage.

MotorCities-Automobile National Heritage Area, one of twenty-four National Heritage Areas designated by the U.S. Congress and an affiliate of the National Parks Service (NPS), helps residents and visitors appreciate how the automobile changed Michigan, the nation and the world. MotorCities encompasses 10,000 square miles of Southeastern and Central Michigan including Detroit, Dearborn, Flint, Lansing, Jackson, Pontiac, Warren, Ypsilanti and other communities.

"We are delighted to add MotorCities to our growing client roster and to partner with them as they continue the work of revitalizing and reinvigorating our shared automotive heritage," said Bud Liebler, Liebler!MacDonald principal. "Marketed effectively, MotorCities can be a big plus to tourism in Michigan, and we will do everything we can to help get the message out."

"We've made a strategic decision to ramp up our communications outreach," said Mark Pischea, Executive Director of MotorCities. "Liebler!MacDonald represents everything we need in a communications partner -- they share our passion for cars and trucks, our dedication to our community partners, our enthusiasm for historical sites and our belief in an educational program to ensure that our automotive heritage is passed on. We have a great story, and we can't think of anybody better suited to tell it."
