McSwain Named President of American Traffic Safety Services Association -ATSSA-
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--Feb. 1, 20041, 2004--Tom McSwain, president of Reichhold subsidiary Innovative Performance Systems (IPS) , has been named president of the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), an international roadway safety association, headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia.After serving as president elect for the last two years, he received the "President's Gavel" on February 1 at the association's Annual Convention and Traffic Expo in San Antonio, Texas. McSwain will serve as ATSSA president for a two-year term.
ATSSA represents over 1,800 member companies and individuals in the traffic control and roadway safety industry who provide the majority of roadway safety features, services and materials used on roadways in the United States and abroad.
Founded in 1998, IPS supplies technologically advanced durable roadway markings for state and municipal governments. IPS marking systems include epoxies and modified urethanes and polyurea products among others. IPS commercial and technical personnel work out of Reichhold's World Headquarters and Technology Center in Research Triangle Park, NC.
McSwain has been with IPS for over five years. Prior to joining IPS, McSwain worked with Swarco Traffic Systems as a market development manager and vice president / division manager. His traffic systems experience also includes serving as national product manager for Brite-Line Industries.
In addition to serving as ATSSA president, McSwain is a board member for The Road Information Program (TRIP) and is featured in an interview published in the January 2004 issue of Transportation Management + Engineering (TM+E) magazine.
