Abboud Named President of Vibracoustic North America

PLYMOUTH, Mich., Feb. 11, 2004 -- Vibracoustic North America, the vibration control business of Freudenberg-NOK, has appointed Pierre Y. Abboud as president. The announcement was made by Richard E. Allen, chief executive officer of Freudenberg-NOK's Manufactured Products Group.

Abboud brings 20 years of operations and management experience in the automotive, aerospace, retail and material industries to his new leadership position, where he will oversee Vibracoustic North America's operations with a total revenue of approximately $160 million.

Most recently, Abboud was employed at Electrolux Home Products North America in Webster City, Iowa, where he was responsible for approximately 2,000 employees and more than $650 million in sales.

Prior to that, Abboud was vice president and general manager of RealPrice & RealScan for NCR Corp.'s Retail Systems Division. There, he directed the company's global, $110 million electronic shelf labels and scanners businesses.

From 1995 to 2001, Abboud was employed by AlliedSignal / Honeywell, where he held a variety of executive management positions, including vice president, engineering and technology for Allied Signal Automotive's Bendix unit.

He began his career with an 11-year stint at General Motors' Delphi Packard Electric Systems, where he held the positions of electronics business manager for Europe and the Americas.

Abboud has had five patent awards and four patent applications. He earned a doctorate in engineering, as well as a master's and bachelor's degree in electrical engineering -- all from Cleveland State University in Ohio. He has also studied business at the graduate level at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and Thunderbird University in Glendale, Ariz.
