Amerigon Names Brent W. Jump Manager of Purchasing and Logistics
DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 10, 2004 -- Amerigon Incorporated today announced that it has named Brent W. Jump, 31, to the position of Manager Purchasing and Logistics, effective immediately. Jump comes to Amerigon with more than nine years experience in manufacturing, purchasing and project management, and he most recently worked in Core Purchasing at Ford Motor Company responsible for a materials procurement budget of more than $100 million. He reports directly to Chief Executive Officer Daniel R. Coker and his duties encompass the management of all inventory, purchasing and logistics functions. Jump is also responsible for the supply chain management of the Company's contract manufacturing operations in Mexico and China where its proprietary Climate Control Seat(TM) (CCS(TM)) systems are manufactured.
"Brent has a breadth of relevant project and materials management experience in the global automotive industry. With his knowledge and record of accomplishment, he will play a key role in helping us effectively manage and keep pace with the demands of the significant growth we expect over the next several years," Coker said. "One of his first priorities will be to organize the Company's purchasing and materials management functions in our headquarters here in Dearborn to be in closer contact with our customer base."
From March 2000 until joining Amerigon, Jump was in Core Powertrain Purchasing at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn responsible for procuring steel components for Ford's powertrain applications. While at Ford, he purchased materials, negotiated pricing and cost reductions with suppliers, identified alternative sources of supply and was formally recognized for a number of his accomplishments.
From February 1997 until he joined Ford Motor Company, Jump spent three years at Bloomfield Hill, MI-based Ducker Research Company as a Senior Market Analyst in a research team responsible for conducting market research studies and opportunity assessments for that firm's Fortune 500 clients. His duties at Ducker also included field work and proposal preparation and presentation.
Jump graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN and he holds an MBA from Wayne State University in Detroit. He resides with his family in Farmington Hills, MI.
