Standard Motor Products, Inc. Announces the Acquisition of Dana's Canadian Engine Management Business
NEW YORK--Feb. 3, 2004--Standard Motor Products, Inc. , an automotive replacement parts manufacturer and distributor, announced today that it has acquired from Dana Corporation its Canadian Engine Management Business. Net sales volume is approximately $10 million U.S.Mr. Lawrence Sills, Standard Motor Products, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We are pleased to finalize this acquisition. We have been supplying product to Dana's Canadian division since the time of our July 1 acquisition of Dana's U.S. Engine Management business. We will now be taking over the sales, marketing, and distribution functions in Canada, and amalgamating these into our current facility in Mississauga, Ontario. This will enable us to provide improved service to the Canadian accounts."
