Who You Gonna' Call? ... AVV Web Control(R) to Answer Do-Not-Call List Dilemma for Car Dealers

Autobytel's AVV to Integrate National Do Not Call Registry Into Customer Management Software; New Feature Will Signal Who Can Be Called - and When

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 31 -- AVV, Inc., Autobytel's CRM and lead management technology arm, is working to help dealerships comply with the new National Do Not Call Registry by integrating updated Registry data into its best-in-class customer management system, AVV Web Control. The enhanced technology, which is being "sneak previewed" at N.A.D.A., will automatically assign a current Registry status for every customer in the dealership database, clearly indicating who has registered and, among those registrants, who can still be contacted based on their specific dealership histories. Autobytel is planning to roll out the new feature to AVV Web Control users during the first quarter of the year.

"With cash-strapped states aggressively pursuing marketers who violate the Registry laws, compliance has quickly become a major issue for dealerships," said Vice President and General Manager Dan Vogel. "Some firms are providing training to help sales teams comply with the new law, but AVV will be taking the lead in automating compliance at dealerships. In so doing, we're working to make it fast and easy for dealers to manage their customer relationships within the limits of the law."

Vogel adds that the enhanced software will do more than simply flag the names of customers who have signed up for the Registry; it will also synthesize FCC guidelines for past customers and customers who have initiated contact with the dealership -- two groups that can still be legally contacted within certain time frames. The software will provide a "running clock" for each of these potential prospects, indicating how many days the sales team has left to legally contact that customer based on the date he or she either initiated contact with the dealership or last made a purchase from the dealership.

Added Autobytel Inc. President and CEO Jeffrey Schwartz: "This will be a great example of what technology should do -- streamline complex information, do the 'heavy lifting,' and enable people to do their jobs better."

Approximately 3,400 franchises nationwide utilize AVV Web Control to manage their Internet and traditional customers on a single platform -- from initial contact throughout the lifetime of the relationship. More of the mega e-Dealer 100 (the 100 most productive Internet dealers and dealer groups) use AVV Web Control than any other independent lead management and CRM tool. Key AVV clients include: Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, Honda, Lithia Motors, and Asbury Automotive Group.
