LKQ Corporation Acquires Metro East Salvage, Inc.

CHICAGO--Jan. 2, 20048, 2004--LKQ Corporation today announced that it has acquired Metro East Salvage, Inc., a privately held company that operates a recycled OEM automotive replacement parts facility. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Located approximately ten miles east of St. Louis on ten acres of land in Caseyville, IL, Metro East will service the greater St. Louis, MO area, and provide a strategic link within LKQ's network of facilities.

"Once fully incorporated into our network, our investment in Metro East is expected to enhance our ability to move product more efficiently across several of our regions," said Joe Holsten, LKQ's President and Chief Executive Officer. "In the first full year of operation, we expect Metro East to contribute revenue in the range of $3.5 to $4.0 million."
