BorgWarner Names Olaf Weber Vice President, Engine Research and Development

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 28, 2004 -- BorgWarner Inc. has appointed Olaf Weber to the newly created position of Vice President, Engine Research and Development. Dr. Weber is responsible for identifying technological and market trends in engines, and for developing new systems that will enable BorgWarner to leverage the company's capabilities and expand into new areas of the engine business. He is based at the BorgWarner Powertrain Technical Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Before joining BorgWarner, Dr. Weber was Vice President, Development for Mann and Hummel Automotive in Ludwigsburg, Germany. He also held a variety of technical positions at Delphi Automotive Systems, Siemens AG and Porsche AG.

He earned doctoral, masters and graduate degrees in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen/Germany (Technical University).
