AAA Texas Offers Tipsy Tow Service for the Super Bowl; Free Anti-Drinking & Driving Community Service
HOUSTON--Jan. 28, 2004--Super Bowl in Houston means one BIG party in the Bayou City! And AAA Texas wants to make sure that our roadways are as safe as possible, by offering its free Tipsy Tow service for Super Bowl weekend."This is the first time in years that the Super Bowl will take place in the Houston area," said Rose Rougeau of AAA Texas. "We want to make sure if you're hosting a party or attending one, you have the Tipsy Tow number available as a responsible option or have a designated driver on hand."
The Tipsy Tow service is designed to provide drivers with an alternate and safe way home if they have been drinking.
Here is how Tipsy Tow works:
-- Drivers, holiday hosts and bartenders simply dial AAA Texas' toll free number at 1-800-AAA-HELP or 1-800-222-4357 to request the Tipsy Tow service.
-- AAA Texas dispatches a tow truck and;
-- The driver is driven -- and the vehicle towed -- home for free up to 10 miles (up to 2 people can ride in the tow truck).
The service is available from 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 to 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2004. The first ten miles are free.
Callers need to keep in mind that the service is restricted to a one-way ride for the driver and the destination is limited to the driver's residence. Drivers can expect to pay the rate charged by the tow truck contractor for rides farther than ten miles.
The Tipsy Tow service is available within the Greater Houston area including Baytown, Conroe, Galveston, Humble, Katy, League City, Missouri City, Pasadena, Pearland, Sugar Land and Tomball.
