Polaris All-Terrain Pickup Wins 2004 ATV of the Year Award; ATP is Third Polaris ATV to Win Similar Award in Three Years

MINNEAPOLIS--Jan. 2, 20047, 2004--Polaris Industries today announced that its All-Terrain Pickup (ATP) was named "ATV of the Year" by ATV Magazine, the largest ATV industry publication. This is the third Polaris ATV to receive such recognition in three years.

The ATP earned the honor based on its combination of smooth ride, exceptional utility use and multiple drive capabilities. The machine is produced with two engine options, the ATP 500 H.O. (high output) and the ATP 330. With a rear-dump cargo box, a storage box up front and two side storage compartments, the ATP has twice the hauling capacity of most ATVs.

The ATP also features the innovative VersaTrac traction system in its all-wheel drive, two-wheel drive and Turf modes. Turf mode creates 20% tighter turns and minimizes damage to soft terrain. Best of all, the ATP has the legendary smooth Polaris ride.

Editors of ATV Magazine commented, "Polaris broke the mold of 'utility first, recreation second' with its ATP. (The) machine can haul more gear more easily than its competition...yet it remains a worthy trail machine. For work or play, Polaris engineers thought of nearly everything."

"We're extremely proud the ATP was recognized as 'ATV of the Year'," said Bennett Morgan, general manager, Polaris ATV division. "Our engineers, designers and line workers have created an incredible vehicle that is a better solution for the needs of many ATV riders--it truly helps owners do more, more easily. It's our third ATV of the year award in three years, which demonstrates the superior quality and versatility of Polaris ATVs."

The company also scored All-Terrain Vehicle magazine 2004 "Best in Class" awards for its Sportsman 600 Twin, Predator 500 and innovation (for VersaTrac traction system on the ATP).

In recent years, Polaris ATVs have won several quality distinctions from industry publications. The Predator 500, Polaris' first high-performance sport ATV, earned the "ATV of the Year" title from ATV Sport Magazine, "Sport Performance ATV of the Year" from The 2003 ATV Guide and "Sport ATV of the Year" from ATV Rider Magazine. The Sportsman 700 Twin, the most powerful and smoothest riding 4x4, also earned "2002 ATV of the Year" honors from ATV Magazine.
