New Features Now Available on the AXONN AXTracker(TM) GPS Tracking Device
NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 22, 2004 -- On-board motion detection, remote temperature sensing, low battery detection, external antenna capability, and optional line power are among the features now available on AXONN's battery operated AXTracker GPS telemetry device. AXTracker operates with the Globalstar satellite network, which is currently enabled in North America and the Middle East. Additional regions are planned in the near future.
Gary Naden, AXONN Vice President states, "These new features come in response to our customers' desire to use AXTracker in more diverse applications. The new external antenna now allows the unit to be concealed when used in covert tracking as well as when the installation does not allow for placement of the AXTracker itself within view of the sky." The antenna assembly is compact and comes with 10 feet of cable to connect to the AXTracker.
With on-board motion detection, AXTracker can remotely sense if the vehicle to which it is attached is in motion or stationary. This allows greater battery life by extended sleep periods during inactivity and instant wake-up and alarm when the vehicle moves. Optional line power extends battery life, and provides greater flexibility as the units can operate on vehicle power when the vehicle is running. This feature also permits true geofencing. The GPS receiver can now more frequently sample the current location and determine if the asset has passed beyond a preset boundary. An immediate alarm will be generated if necessary.
Another exciting option for the AXTracker is the addition of remote temperature sensing. Programmable sensors can now monitor temperatures at one or two locations. The AXTracker still includes up to four alarm contact closure inputs for monitoring doors, engine run, and other discrete inputs. These discrete inputs are useful for load control (door open/closed, time and location), general security of the asset as well as engine usage.
AXONN, L.L.C., is located in the Advanced Technology Center at the University of New Orleans Technology Park. AXONN creates wireless data acquisition (DA) and monitoring products and solutions. AXONN's proprietary radio frequency devices feature a full custom analog/digital spread spectrum transmitter ASIC with very low power consumption.
