Exide Introduces NASCAR Branded Product Line at Sam's Club

Exclusive Battery Program Available Only at SAM'S CLUB

PRINCETON, N.J., Jan. 19 -- Exide Technologies, (BULLETIN BOARD: EXDTQ) ( www.exide.com ) a global leader in stored electrical-energy solutions, has introduced a new NASCAR(R) branded transportation battery program at SAM'S CLUB, the nation's leading members- only warehouse. These products are exclusive to SAM'S CLUB and will be available in more than 462 locations nationwide.

The Exide NASCAR(R) XLT Performance Series products consist of a full line of premium automotive batteries, including Exide's conventional and cylindrically wound technologies. The line contains 21 different types of automotive products geographically segmented to motorists in northern and southern climates. Because of the depth of this product line, SAM'S CLUB will carry a NASCAR(R) branded battery to fit most automotive vehicle applications. The products come with a 24-month free replacement and 84-month limited warranty.

NASCAR(R) research shows that its motor sports program has a following of 75 million fans, equal to one fourth of the U.S. population. By extension, the NASCAR(R) name offers exceptional brand equity.
