Internap Board Member Resigns to Focus Efforts on New Company

ATLANTA--Jan. 1, 20046, 2004--

Naughtin Recently Named CEO of Network Clarity; Notes Internap's Achievement of 'Unprecedented Financial Viability & Strength' Marks Opportunity to Focus on New Challenges

Internap(R) Network Services Corporation , the leading provider of performance-based routing services over the Internet, today announced that Anthony Naughtin has resigned from the company's board of directors, effective January 9, 2004. Naughtin co-founded Internap in 1996 and served as the company's first President and CEO until August of 2001, and as a director since 1997. He had notified the company last fall of his intention to resign sometime in the first quarter of 2004.

"With the company now achieving an unprecedented level of financial viability and fundamental strength, any remaining goals left for me to assist with have now been completed, my personal commitments fulfilled," Naughtin said. "I will continue to be the company's biggest supporter and outside cheerleader. The intelligent routing services uniquely provided by Internap will continue to take an increasingly prominent role over time, as the Internet fulfills its potential of becoming the ubiquitous network for nearly all forms of content, communication and technology services."

Naughtin recently became CEO of Seattle-based Network Clarity, an early stage company founded in 2002 by his Internap co-founder, Christopher Wheeler. Network Clarity provides technology that automates network device configuration and overall policy control in large enterprise networks.

"On behalf of the board and Internap employees, I would like to thank Tony for his vital contribution to the creation and development of Internap," said Greg Peters, President and CEO. "We wish Tony continued success with Network Clarity."

The company's board nominating committee is currently evaluating a list of candidates to fill the vacated position.
