A.O. Smith Declares Quarterly Dividend

MILWAUKEE, Jan. 15, 2004 -- Directors of A.O. Smith Corporation today declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $.15 per share on Common Stock and Class A Common Stock.

The dividend is payable on Feb. 17 to shareholders of record Jan. 30.
