TRAVIS SAUTER EYES MOVE TO ASA LATE MODEL SERIES

PENDLETON, Ind. (January 14, 2004) -- Wisconsin stock car racer Travis Sauter has announced his intentions to compete in the ASA Late Model Series during the 2004 season. Sauter, the son of 1999 ASA National Tour Champion Tim, will race in a minimum of eight to 10 events depending on sponsorship packages secured for the year.

"I have been around ASA for several years with my dad when we won the championship and was on Johnny's (Sauter) pit crew in 2001. I know what it takes to be successful in ASA Racing," said Travis Sauter. "I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to race with the ASA Late Model Series."

Sauter, 21, began his racing career in 2002, making appearances in the Super Stock division at Wisconsin Dells Motor Speedway. He also made a showing in Oktoberfest at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway, finishing in fourth position.

In 2003, Sauter placed fifth in point standings at Wisconsin Dells with season highlights of three victories. He also competed in several Late Model events, posting a best of seventh place at Golden Sands Speedway in a Wisconsin Challenge event. He capped off his year with a runner-up and fast time at the annual Oktoberfest Super Stock event.

"I haven't been handed anything in my first few seasons in motorsports. My dad has always wanted me to work on my own cars and learn how the racing business operates. I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from his career and from Johnny. This season, I want to show everyone that I can drive a racecar by winning some races, poles and finishing in the top five."
