partners in the development of the MediaREADY convergent
Internet/DVD player, announced today from the 2004
International Consumer Electronics Show that Blastro,
Live365, INgrooves, VegTv, and Adventures in OZ have signed
up for the MediaREADY Content Partner Program, a new effort
designed to increase potential revenue derived from
distribution of MediaREADY units. The five companies,
leading providers of on-demand streaming music, Internet
radio, new music, healthy lifestyle TV, and kids' fun and
fitness videos, respectively, will not only enhance the
appeal of MediaREADY devices among consumers, but also allow
further profit participation among OEMs and retailers as
content is either embedded at the OEM level or sold and
delivered to MediaREADY units on an after-market basis.
The MediaREADY Content Partner Program was recently
announced by Video Without Boundaries (VWB) and CAC Media to
add further partnering opportunities as the MediaREADY 4000
assumes its role as an enabling platform for digital media
distribution. The MediaREADY 4000, a revolutionary digital
media center combining feature-rich TV, email, networked and
local digital storage, DVD/CD/MPEG1/MPEG2/MPEG4/MP3
playback, karaoke, gaming and other PC-centric
functionality, is expected to hit retail shelves in Q1 of
2004.
