Trafficmaster's Smartnav Rolled Out By Mercedes Benz UK

LONDON January 9, 2004; Dow Jones reported that Trafficmaster PLC Friday said that Smartnav, the satellite navigation with Trafficmaster's traffic information, is being made available by Mercedes-Benz as an approved accessory across its entire model range in the U.K. from Friday.

Smartnav provides Mercedes-Benz customers with the latest in satellite navigation.

Using Trafficmaster's live, incident, historic and predictive traffic data, the Smartnav server then calculates the best route avoiding congestion and downloads the route into the Smartnav unit in the car.

In addition the system will alert drivers of any delays en route, and Smartnav also provides two additional services including Safe Speed, an integrated safety camera alert device, and Stolen Vehicle Tracking.
