Former Budget Group Chairman Sandy Miller Becomes Co-Owner of U-Save Auto Rental

-- U-Save Strategy to Become Largest Franchised Car Rental Company --

JACKSON, Miss., Jan. 8 -- U-Save Holdings, parent company to U-Save Auto Rental, proudly announced today that Sandy Miller, former Chairman and CEO of Budget Group, Inc., has become a new co-owner of the Company. Miller will take on the role of Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of U-Save, a franchise- based car rental company with more than 800 locations nationwide serving value-conscious leisure and local market renters.

"This is very exciting news for U-Save," noted Tom McDonnell, co-owner of U-Save Auto Rental who now shares his title as Chairman and CEO with Miller. "Sandy has extensive experience as an owner, operator and consolidator of car rental franchises. He knows the car rental industry inside and out and is an expert when it comes to franchising." Indeed, Miller is no stranger to franchising or the car rental industry. A former Avis employee, he bought his first Budget Rent a Car franchise in Daytona Beach in 1981. From there, he and his partners began buying and opening other Budget franchises and became the company's largest domestic franchisee generating $350 million in annual revenue. Miller and his partners went public and eventually bought their franchisor, Budget Rent a Car Corporation, which is now owned by Cendant Corporation.

Together, Miller and McDonnell plan to accelerate the growth of U-Save Auto Rental through franchising. "Our goal is to be the largest franchised car rental company in the U.S. With 280 U-Save franchisees and 800 locations, including the locations of U-Save's subsidiary ARRC, we are likely the largest franchised neighborhood car rental company already," stated Miller.

The consolidation in the car rental industry and the move by the owners of the major car rental brands to convert franchised locations to corporate ownership have left few options for entrepreneurs interested in operating a car rental franchise. U-Save will target these entrepreneurs, as well as "early-retired" executives seeking an alternative to the corporate environment that severed them, and independent car rental operators looking to affiliate with a name brand and benefit from the services of a franchise organization.

One of the benefits of owning a U-Save Auto Rental franchise is access to car rental fleet insurance. Today, the major car rental companies are self- insured and there are fewer insurance companies serving the car rental market. Industry-wide, many franchisees and independent car rental operators have found it difficult to obtain fleet insurance and have seen rates skyrocket. U-Save can offer franchisees affordable vehicle liability insurance and other insurance lines through its U-Save Financial Services, a full-service insurance provider licensed in most states. U-Save will also provide its franchisees the opportunity to purchase vehicles through its relationship with Ford Motor Company and is in the process of filing with the FTC to develop a franchise program for car sales.

The Company is revamping its website, www.usave.net , and creating an internet-based reservation booking engine that will allow customers to book on-line. U-Save is also establishing a new reservation call center to better handle the growing volume of rental inquiries made through its toll-free phone number, 1-800-438-2300. The company will step up marketing efforts to create greater awareness of the U-Save brand among value-conscious leisure and local neighborhood renters and small business operators who don't qualify for discounts at the major car rental companies.

"We will develop more markets across the U.S. by serving airports and continuing to expand local markets to reach a greater number of local market renters and leisure and small business travelers," noted Miller. U-Save currently serves airports in Tampa, Orlando, Sanford, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Myrtle Beach and Jackson, Mississippi, and has local market franchise locations in 42 states. Miller, through his private equity firm Basin Street Partners, is also U-Save's largest franchisee and is converting his Florida- based Specialty Van Rentals business to the U-Save brand. Specialty Van Rentals is a regional rental company which primarily serves European travelers and tour operators through locations in Tampa, Orlando, Sanford, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.

U-Save Holdings has more than 800 U-Save Auto Rental and ARRC locations. U-Save and its subsidiary, ARRC (Auto Resource Rental Center), offer a fleet of nearly 20,000 vehicles including compact to luxury-size cars, SUVs, vans, and light-duty trucks. The company serves the value-conscious local market, leisure and commercial renter at neighborhood, off-airport and airport locations. U-Save has an alliance with Practical Car and Van Rental in the U.K. For more information about U-Save Auto Rental, visit www.usave.net or call 1-800-438-2300.
