Surface Tech Announces New President
IRVINE, Calif.--Jan. 7, 2004--Surface Tech Inc. (Pink Sheets:SFCI) today announced the appointment of Jeremy L. Preston as president of Surface Tech Inc. Mr. Preston assumed his duties Dec. 1, 2003. He brings ten years of experience in the automotive aftermarket sector. Mr. Preston's prior business experience included the start up and development of Preston's Automotive, a chain of 11 aftermarket performance shops based in Florida. His experience and national connections will allow Surface Tech's patented method for refurbishing alloy wheels to be exposed to the aftermarket segment of the industry. Surface Tech continues to expand in automobile dealerships, auto auctions, car rental, and insurance companies.Surface Tech has also developed a process to resurface headlight lens covers that have been damaged by road debris, sand blast, and UV damage. Since modern headlights are a sealed unit assembly, resolving any surface damage or deterioration that has occurred necessitates a replacement of the complete assembly at a cost of $400 to $2,000 each.
With SFCI's resurfacing process, the headlight lens cover can be returned to a like new condition for $95. This process is performed without removing the headlight from the car, at the dealer's location in under an hour. Lens resurfacing is currently being used by a limited number of techs, but will be able to expand rapidly. Mercury Insurance, a leading California Auto Insurer, has recently notified its Claims Representatives that SFCI is its preferred provider for headlight resurfacing.
