Visteon Innovations Deliver Wireless Connections - Today and in the Future

DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 7, 2004 -- At the 2004 Consumer Electronics Show, Visteon Corporation marks a new level of distinction in delivering wireless technology. Fueled by the need for rapid development of products that consumers want and automakers select for vehicle distinction, Visteon is leading the way in delivering factory-installed, hands-free wireless solutions.

Visteon's MACH(R) Voice Link is the wireless solution that integrates Visteon Voice Technology(TM) and Bluetooth technology to help drivers keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. This year, Visteon distinguishes itself as the first automotive Tier I supplier to deliver an integrated, factory-installed voice-activated Bluetooth(R) wireless system on both sides of the ocean. Visteon supplies this technology, known as the Bluetooth Wireless Interface Module, in Europe for the BMW 3 and 5 Series for cell phone wireless connectivity, and in 2004 BMW will offer this capability in North America on the X3 and X5.

This year at CES, Visteon will demonstrate how music from a portable MP3 player or PDA can be streamed into a vehicle's audio system using Bluetooth and voice activation playback -- delivering hands-free, wireless access to entertainment that allows drivers to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

Visteon selected Bluetooth as the production technology for in-vehicle wireless solutions to maximize the life of battery life on today's portable devices.

Visteon recently announced it will supply an Asian-based global automaker with unique features and functions for a future model year.
