iBiquity Digital Hosts Live HD Radio Telematics Traffic Demos From Las Vegas Station KSTJ-FM

Delphi, Navigation Technologies, Panasonic and Visteon Show HD Radio Traffic Displayed in Text and on Navigation Systems

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 -- International Consumer Electronics Show -- iBiquity Digital Corporation announced today that Delphi, Navigation Technologies, Panasonic and Visteon will all demonstrate HD Radio traffic based solutions at iBiquity's booth #4619. Traffic information, provided separately by Navigation Technologies and TrafficCast, will be broadcast live from KSTJ-FM. Delphi will show text-based traffic reports in a Pontiac Montana while real-time traffic information will also be overlaid on a Panasonic GPS navigation system enabled with NAVTECH maps and an advanced Visteon multimedia driver information system. All demonstrations can be seen at iBiquity's booth on the show floor.

"This telematics demonstration shows one of many innovative ways the FM band can be used to transmit digital information at a fraction of the cost of conventional wireless systems," said Robert Struble, president and chief executive officer, iBiquity Digital Corporation. "As we continue to work with service and content providers, we foresee numerous telematics applications derived from HD Radio digital broadcast technology."

"We believe HD radio technology is excellent, not only for in-vehicle information, but for many other services," said Martin Thoone, Visteon's global director, Electronics Product Line Team. "We were the first OEM to partner with iBiquity in the development of HD radio-based products for the automotive industry."

In what may be the biggest change to radio since the introduction of FM in the 1940s, iBiquity's award-winning HD Radio technology transforms today's AM and FM radio by transmitting digital audio and data alongside existing analog signals, allowing listeners to enjoy CD-quality sound on FM and FM sound quality on AM with no static, hiss, pops or fades. The technology provides a platform for integrated wireless data services that, combined with display screens on HD Radio receivers, will deliver listeners a variety of additional information via scrolling text such as song titles, artist names, traffic updates, weather forecasts, sports scores and more. Nearly 300 radio stations in over 100 U.S. markets across 38 states have licensed HD Radio technology.
