Hillsborough Celebrates 48th Annual Concours D'elegance; Sunday, May 2, 2004 Event Will Feature Alfa Romeo, Special Italian Racing Cars & Other Classics

HILLSBOROUGH, Calif.--Jan. 7, 2004--The 48th Annual Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance Classic Car Show and Family Festival is scheduled for Sunday, May 2, 2004. The featured marquee automobile for this year is Alfa Romeo.

The first Concours of the season, the Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance offers car enthusiasts the first look at the most recent restorations and unique automobiles. This year, in addition to the emphasis on Alfa Romeo, the Hillsborough Concours will include a special display: "Machine Da Corsa Dal'Italia" - Racing Machines of Italy.

The Hillsborough Concours is the oldest continuously running car show in the West, and has earned a reputation as one of finest of the season. The show attracts more than 7,000 visitors and participants, and displays a select group of more than 200 vintage and classic cars dating back to the turn of the century.

On Saturday, May 1, 2004, the fourth Annual Hillsborough Tour d'Elegance will be held. Starting at 9 a.m., participants in this special event will gather at Crocker Middle School in Hillsborough and wind their way in a parade of classic cars along a scenic tour over the coastal mountains to the Pacific Ocean coastline about 15 miles south of San Francisco and back through Woodside to Hillsborough.

Proceeds of the Concours and Tour d'Elegance benefit the Hillsborough Public Schools.

Participant Registration: Car enthusiasts interested in entering a car must complete a registration form and submit their application by February 16, 2004.

Description: The Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance is a classic car show representing classes and styles through the turn of the century. Alfa Romeo is the marquee automobile along with a special display of Italian racing cars. Carnival games, food, trophies, and entertainment for the whole family. The Tour d'Elegance, a special half-day driving tour of classic cars, is held on Saturday, May 1, 2004. Information and advance tickets available on-line.
