Audi Of America, Inc. Reports 2003 Best Year Ever

A8 Continues Stellar Growth

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 5 -- Audi of America, Inc. reported 2003 year-end sales of 86,421 compared to 2002 sales of 85,726, an increase of 0.8 percent. This gain represents Audi's fourth consecutive annual sales record and the best sales result in its 34-year history.

One highlight in 2003 was the launch of the all-new Audi A8 L. Overall, the A8 finished the year with sales of 4,090, a 170.0 percent increase over 2002 sales of 1,515.

Audi also reported its best December sales month ever with 9,084 units sold, representing a 9.7 percent increase relative to December 2002 sales of 8,282. December 2003 marked the second highest sales month in Audi of America history.

Contributing to the December record was the A4 with strong sales of 4,658, a 13.0 percent increase. And, the A4 Cabriolet, which added quattro all-wheel drive to the model mix this year, experienced an increase of 81.5 percent for the month.
