Detroit Auto Show: Toyota Motor Sales to Provide Live Press Conference Webcast

TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 23, 2003 -- Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., will offer live webcasts of the Toyota, Scion and Lexus press conferences during the 2004 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.

Journalists and consumers will be able to watch live streaming video of the press conferences through the TMS pressroom and consumer websites. After the press conferences, journalists and consumers also will be able to watch a replay of the events via archived video through the same sites.

The Toyota press conference will feature the debuts of both the all-new Highlander Hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a full-size pickup concept truck. The Highlander Hybrid will join the popular Prius sedan as the second vehicle in the Toyota Division model lineup to feature Hybrid Synergy Drive. The gas-electric Highlander Hybrid will arrive in about a year. The full-size pick-up concept truck will offer a glimpse into the future direction of Toyota trucks. The press conference will be held at 1:55 p.m. EST, Sunday, Jan. 4 at the Riverview Ballroom in COBO Center and can be seen live through the following sites.

Scion, the new marque from TMS will stage the world premier of the Scion tC sports coupe at its press conference. Sales of the tC, designed specifically for the U.S. market, will begin in June 2004 and will coincide with the national launch of the Scion brand. The Scion press conference will be in the Riverview Ballroom in COBO Center on Monday, Jan. 5 at 12:00 p.m. EST and can be seen through the live simulcast at the following web sites.

Lexus will stage the world premier of the third-generation GS series luxury sport sedan in Detroit. The all-new more powerful GS will showcase the industry's most advanced technology and offer a glimpse of a new direction in Lexus styling. Lexus also will introduce its RX Hybrid, the world's first luxury hybrid SUV. The reveal will be held at 8:30 a.m. EST, on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at the Riverview Ballroom in COBO Center. The Lexus press conference, as well as live 24/7 streaming video from the Lexus NAIAS display between Jan. 4 and Jan. 19, can be seen live through the following web sites.
