Applied Films Announces Orders for Its First Two Generation 6 TFT Color Filter Machines

LONGMONT, Colo., Dec. 22, 2003 -- Applied Films Corporation announced today that a major Korean customer has converted a letter of intent that was received in September to orders for two New Aristo 1800's for that customer's first phase Generation 6 fabrication plant.

Mr. Thomas T. Edman, President and CEO stated, "We are pleased to announce these purchase orders which converted from a letter of intent from this important customer. These orders not only confirm the expansion of TFT LCD manufacturers into Generation 6 operations, it also establishes the penetration of our New Aristo 1800 series coater into the Generation 6 market for flat panel televisions."
