CarsDirect's December 2003 Best Bargains; Regional Rebates and Incentives Make Some New Models Especially Great Deals

CLICK4REBATE DATABASE

LOS ANGELES--Dec. 1, 20038, 2003--CarsDirect.com, the leading multi-brand online car buying service, today announced its December 2003 Best Bargains selections. While many manufacturers, such as Honda, Subaru and Volvo, have opted to end the year with the same levels of national rebates and incentives they offered during November, others have selected to stuff consumer stockings with varying amounts of regional cash. General Motors, for example, is offering a hefty $6,500 on its 2003 Suburban -- but only in the south-central U.S., while Ford is offering up to $1,000 on the brand-new F-150 in specific regions of the country.

"During this 'year-end sale' period, buyers need to make sure they have a crystal-clear picture of where the most attractive bargains can be found," advised Mark McCready, director of CarsDirect.com pricing strategy. "We are seeing regional rebate and incentive levels shift quickly, which means price-conscious buyers should compare vehicle costs often during the shopping process."

McCready pointed out that many buyers spend the holidays at vacation homes or visiting relatives out-of-state, a fact that may translate into significant savings if a new vehicle purchase can be timed with the trip.

In addition to national and regional holiday deals, manufacturers are also continuing to subsidize finance programs and add attractive options at no additional cost. Currently, Mazda is offering as low as 0% APR for 60 months and deferred payments until June 2004 during its Drive in the New Year Sales Event. Lincoln Mercury is offering no-charge DVD entertainment systems on the Navigator and Aviator, as well as 0% APR or up to $4,000 cash back on select models as part of the Wish List Year End Event. Volkswagen is also getting into the holiday spirit with a low 2.9% APR on the 2004 Jetta and Passat.

Each month, CarsDirect.com's team of pricing experts qualifies Best Bargain vehicles from a list of over 120,000 price configurations. Best Bargain choices include popular new cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles that currently offer the most attractive combination of national and regional manufacturer rebates and incentives, those that offer a historic low price point, or vehicles with prices that include other special programs.
