Schneider Specialized Carriers Names New General Manager
GREEN BAY, Wis., Dec. 15, 2003 -- Schneider National Inc., a premium transportation and logistics services provider and North America's largest truckload carrier, announced today that Barbara Milligan Vitchus has joined the company as general manager of Schneider Specialized Carriers, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Schneider National. In this role, Vitchus will have full accountability for the operations, performance and long-term positioning of this specialty segment.
Schneider Specialized Carriers specializes in hauling flat-glass on flatbed and specialized trailers for use in the automotive industry and in the construction of commercial buildings. Schneider Specialized Carriers also offers brokerage services in partnership with more than 1,800 qualified specialized and heavy haul carriers.
Vitchus joins Schneider Specialized Carriers from CSU Transport Inc. where she was chief financial officer and directed the company's financial reporting, budgeting and cost control as well as labor relations and contract negotiations. Prior to this, Vitchus held the positions of executive vice president and chief financial officer at Specialty Transportation Services Inc. and was responsible for growing revenue 68 percent over the course of three years. Previously, Vitchus served as vice president of finance and administration at Jack Gray Transport Inc. During her tenure with the company, Vitchus raised $8.5 million in venture capital funding to finance the purchase of the solid waste division of Jack Gray Transport. This purchase resulted in the formation of Specialty Transportation Services Inc.

Vitchus studied finance, business and music at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich., and accounting, computer science, and business at Northern Illinois University. She resides in Green Bay.
