Auto Q International Inc. to Finalize Acquisition of Radicom Ltd.
LONDON, Dec. 15, 2003 -- Auto-Q International Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: AUTQ) , a leading provider of vehicle tracking and monitoring systems for trucking fleets and consumers, announced today that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Radicom Ltd.
Radicom Ltd. is a profitable telematics company located in the UK, specialising in GPRS (general packet radio switch) communications that provide end users with high-speed data transmission. Radicom Ltd reported sales in the last 9 months of over $866,000 with a gross profit of $524,000 (60%) and a net profit of $83,000 (9%).
Over the next few years it is forecast that telematics applications will develop as quickly as sales of PCs did in the 1980s. Innovation, particularly in software interfaces, will be the key to success in a fast growing and rapidly changing market for telematics products, which is forecast to grow to $47 billion by 2009. The management of Auto-Q International and Radicom see this acquisition as essential to gaining the strategic mass to be a brand name in the telematics market.
Auto Q International Inc. and Radicom expect to close the acquisition in early 2004 with announcements about new management and other strategic partners to come.
