Johnson Controls Honors Its Best Suppliers with Performance and Leadership Awards
Leading Automotive Interior Systems Provider Recognizes 51 Suppliers For Their Contributions
PLYMOUTH, Mich., Dec. 15 -- Johnson Controls recognized its 51 top-performing suppliers at a celebration event held December 11 at the Amway Grand Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A total of 53 awards were presented to supply companies that have shown exceptional performance and leadership in their work with the company.

"Each year, Johnson Controls receives tremendous support from its supply base," said Kurt Deford, the company's vice president and general manager of purchasing, North America. "We realize that it is important to give recognition to those that help us provide our customers with the best products possible, and enable Johnson Controls to remain a leader among automotive interior suppliers."
Johnson Controls' Supplier Performance Awards are presented annually for performance encompassing four key business areas: quality; commercial; material and logistics; and service and engineering support. Exemplary performance by the firm's supply base is recognized on three levels -- gold, silver and bronze.

At this event, Johnson Controls officials also presented five value-based leadership awards -- including the Innovation Leadership Award, the Community Partnership Award, the Minority Business Development Leadership Award, the Strategic Alliance Award and the Safety and Environmental Leadership Award.
Leggett and Platt of Windsor, Ontario, Canada was recognized with the Innovation Leadership Award. It is presented annually to the supplier that displayed exemplary leadership in partnership with Johnson Controls to bring a product innovation to the market.
The Community Partnership Award was presented to Fisher and Company of St. Clair Shores, Michigan. This award recognizes the company that has worked in partnership most often with Johnson Controls to serve and support the local community.
BlackHawk of Salem, Ohio was recognized with the Minority Business Development Leadership Award, for its level of minority purchases and partnerships with minority suppliers.
The Strategic Alliance Award was given to the Norristown, Pennsylvania- based Seton Company. This honor is granted to the company that takes a leadership role and works closely with Johnson Controls to support the company's Supplier Enterprise Strategy.
E&E Manufacturing of Plymouth, Michigan was presented with the Safety and Environmental Leadership Award for displaying exemplary leadership in establishing a safe work environment and an effective environmental management system.
