Chrysler Group Announces: ChamaSrour President-DaimlerChrysler de Mexico; Schott-Vice President WW P&SCS; Garberding VP-WSQPTeams
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 11, 2003; The Chrysler Group today announced the appointment of Joe ChamaSrour as President-DaimlerChrysler de Mexico, effective January 1, 2004. Additionally, the automaker announced new appointments in its Procurement and Supply (P&S) organization.
ChamaSrour will oversee sales, production and service operations for Chrysler Group products in Mexico, and will report to Joe Eberhardt, Executive Vice President-Global Sales, Marketing and Service. He succeeds Miles Bryant, who has announced his intention to retire this year. ChamaSrour joined Chrysler in 1986 and has held a series of increasingly responsible positions, including Director-Finance-Chrysler de Mexico, in 1993. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer-NAFTA World Engine Joint Venture.
"In addition to his significant professional experiences, Joe has a global business perspective that will be vital to our operations in Mexico," said Eberhardt.
ChamaSrour holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Paris, and an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique, both in Paris, France. He also has an MBA from the Institut Superior des Affaires in Joey-en-Josas, France.
In other appointments, Robert J. Schott has been named Vice President- Worldwide Procurement & Supply Commodity Strategy and Scott R. Garberding has been appointed Vice President-Worldwide Supplier Quality and Product Teams. Both executives will report to Peter M. Rosenfeld, Executive Vice President- Chrysler Group Procurement and Supply. The appointments are effective January 1, 2004.
Schott joined Chrysler in 1983 following graduation from Hillsdale College in Michigan. He has since held several positions in the P & S organization -- most recently as Director-Procurement at Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars in Stuttgart, Germany. He succeeds Peter Rosenfeld in this new position.
Garberding joined the company in 1993 and has held increasingly responsible positions in manufacturing and operations. Currently, he is Plant Manager at Detroit Axle in Michigan. He succeeds Stephen M. Walukas, who was recently named Vice President-Corporate Quality.
Garberding has a master's degree in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas.
