Rapiscan Selects AuraGen(R) as Power Source for Mobile Vehicle Inspection System

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 11, 2003 -- Aura Systems, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: AURA) today announced that Rapiscan, a leading international supplier of high quality X-ray screening and explosive detection systems, has selected the AuraGen(R) to supply power for their mobile vehicle inspection systems. The AuraGen is the power source of choice for the Rapiscan 4200 -- Gamma Radiographic Detection System (GaRDS). The Rapiscan GaRDS is a highly advanced, self-contained, mobile inspection system for screening trucks, cargo containers and passenger vehicles for contraband and explosives. The inspection system consists of X-ray scanning machines and advanced communications, video and computer equipment designed to operate in all weather conditions. In this initial phase, Aura Systems has already outfitted Rapiscan GaRDS vehicles with the AuraGen G8500 for delivery to both domestic and international customers. This AuraGen model provides 8500 watts of clean AC electrical power that will be used to operate the vehicles boom-mounted detector array as well as lights and all high-tech systems equipment.
