LA Auto Club Presents 57 Repair Shops With Quality Service Honors At 8th Annual Performance Awards Program
LOS ANGELES--Dec. 1, 20030, 2003--Fifty-seven Southland vehicle repair shops have earned the Automobile Club of Southern California's Approved Auto Repair Quality Service Award for customer satisfaction and service quality. The awards were presented at the 8th Auto Club Annual Approved Auto Repair Awards luncheon today at the Sheraton of Cerritos.Ten shops received three or more Quality Awards in the past eight years:
6 Years Miramar in San Diego 5 Years Horsman Automotive in Santee 4 Years Auto Precision in Vista Baron's in San Diego Good Guys Automotive in Yorba Linda 3 Years Walt's Auto Service in Torrance Certified Automotive Specialists in Glendale Herman's Expert Auto Service in Anaheim Karco Specialities in Orange Ward Service in Monrovia
Twenty-four Quality Award winners are located in Los Angeles County, 16 in Orange County, and 11 shops are in San Diego. Four are located in San Bernardino, three are located in Anaheim and three are in Orange. The others are spread across many Southern California communities, including one in Ventura and one in San Luis Obispo.
"Automobiles have become very technologically sophisticated," said Ed Lindsay of the Approved Auto Repair program. "These shops exceeded our program's strict requirements and the recipients demonstrate that they provide skill and knowledge as well as top value and service to motorists."
Sixty-five Approved Auto Repair facilities also were recognized for the number of years that they've met the program's stringent standards. Those with 10, 15, 20 and 25 years' tenure as Auto Club-designed Approved Auto Repair shops received Longevity Awards.
Six shops received Quality and Longevity Awards: Herman's Expert Auto Service in Anaheim (25 years); Horsman Automotive in Santee (20 years); Rizzoli's Automotive, Inc. in San Luis Obispo (20 years); Tom's Master Mechanics in San Diego (15 years); All Car Specialist in San Gabriel (15 years), Don Holmberg Chevron in San Diego (10 years); and Pardella's Auto Center in Downey (10 years).
The Quality Award honorees were selected from more than 600 Approved Auto Repair facilities, which are independent businesses regularly inspected by the Auto Club.
To earn the Auto Club's Quality Award, the shops received 99 percent or better customer satisfaction rates, operated a professional garage without facility or equipment deficiencies, and had no member complaints for an entire year.
