Motion Industries One of 25 Best Service Companies to Sell For

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Dec. 8, 2003--Motion Industries, the world's largest distributor of industrial MRO replacement parts, ranks number six out of the 25 Best Service Companies to Sell for in the November/December 2003 issue of Selling Power Magazine.

Selling Power ranks the top 25 manufacturing companies and the top 25 service companies, to determine the top 50 best companies to sell for. The research report, "The 50 Best Companies to Sell For," was published for the third year by the corporate research team at Selling Power identifying and ranking the best companies to sell for among the largest sales forces in the United States. The focus primarily remained on companies with sales forces of 500 or more salespeople. According to the article, an extensive survey questionnaire was sent to the top sales executives, training manager and HR managers to request key information important to prospective employees. Rankings are determined by evaluating compensation, training and career mobility.

In order of Ranking, the top ten companies included: Verizon Information Services, Expeditors International of Washington, United Parcel Service, Marriott International, Metrocall, Motion Industries, ABF Freight System, Hughes Supply, Lawson Products, and Yellow Book USA. Motion Industries 44 (45 top rank benchmark) for its compensation package, 14 (14 top rank benchmark) for training, and 16 (18 top rank benchmark) for career mobility for a total score of 74 (77 top rank benchmark).
