webMethods Enables Shanghai GM Dealers to Achieve e-Business Automation
FAIRFAX, Va., and SHANGHAI, People's Republic of China, Dec. 4 -- webMethods, Inc. , the industry's first Web services infrastructure company, today announced that Shanghai General Motors Corporation Limited, the largest Sino-American joint venture in China, a 50-50 joint venture between General Motors and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation Limited (SAIC), has deployed the webMethods Integration Platform to integrate its core business processes and applications across all major business units. By leveraging the webMethods Integration Platform, Shanghai GM has been able to dramatically streamline its operations through the automation of its e-business applications and through the ability to conduct real-time transactions involving back-end systems across its business.

Shanghai GM selected webMethods to provide a common integration platform to integrate its core back-end business systems such as SAP, SAP IS-Auto, Dealer Management System (DMS), Mainframe, Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and Office Automation systems. With the help of the webMethods Integration Platform, Shanghai GM can easily achieve business automation and e-business enablement, reducing information islands and point-to-point integration.
