Toyota Announces Executives for New San Antonio Plant

ERLANGER, Ky., Dec. 3, 2003 -- Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas, Inc. (TMMTX) today announced several additions to the management team at the company's new San Antonio truck plant. The appointments include Don Jackson as Vice President, Quality Planning & Production; David Crouch as General Manager, Manufacturing Planning; Daniel Antis as Assistant General Manager, Production; and Leo Gomez as General Manager, Administration. Mr. Gomez is currently Vice President of External Affairs for the San Antonio Spurs and will join the Toyota management team in January 2004.

Don, David and Daniel bring over 30 years of expertise in the Toyota Production System to Texas, and Leo brings tremendous leadership skills and an extensive knowledge of San Antonio and South Texas."

Don Jackson, Vice President, Quality Planning and Production. Mr. Jackson is currently Vice President of Manufacturing for Body Weld, Stamping, Production Control, Die Manufacturing and Paint at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) in Georgetown, Kentucky. He joined Toyota in 1987 and has held several positions at TMMK, including General Manager of Quality Engineering.

David Crouch, General Manager, Manufacturing Planning. Mr. Crouch has been at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana, Inc. (TMMI) since 1999. He has held a variety of positions there, including General Manager, Administration and General Manager, Manufacturing Planning.

Leo Gomez, General Manager, Administration. In his new role at TMMTX, Leo Gomez will be responsible for human resources; safety and security; corporate support; and external affairs. Mr. Gomez is currently Vice President of External Affairs for Spurs Sports & Entertainment. As such, he is responsible for the franchise's relations with various public entities and officials. Prior to joining the Spurs in 1996, Mr. Gomez's career included positions as president and CEO of The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and vice president, government affairs for The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

Daniel Antis, Assistant General Manager, Production. Mr. Antis is currently Assistant General Manager, Body Weld and Stamping for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, Inc. He joined Toyota in 1990 at TABC, Inc. in Long Beach, California.

In February 2003, Toyota announced that it had chosen a 2000-acre site in San Antonio to build approximately 150,000 Tundra full size trucks annually, beginning in 2006. The new plant will represent an $800 million investment by Toyota and is expected to bring approximately 2,000 new jobs to Texas and indirectly create work for many more.
